UPCOMING PLANNING MEETING SCHEDULE FOR JULY 2009
July 7, 2009 (6:30pm) - Joint work session with City Council and Planning Commission on Molalla Development Code, URA, Comprehensive Plan, Downtown Plan/OR 211 Streetscape Plan, and Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The work session will be held at Molalla City Hall located at 117 N Molalla Avenue.

MOLALLA'S PLANNING DEPARTMENT
The City of Molalla currently has a full Planning Commission. To qualify for the Planning Commission, applicants must be U.S. citizens and submit a completed application for appointment to a citizen committee. Forms are available at City Hall or on the city web page at www.cityofmolalla.com, Each volunteer form shall be accompanied by a brief statement of why the applicant wishes to serve on the Planning Commission. All candidates are welcome to include a resume with their applications. Appointments to the Planning Commission will be made by the Mayor and may involve interviews with the Planning Commission.
Members of the Planning Commission are required to file a Statement of Economic Interest with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission. The annual reports must be filed by April 15 every year of the incumbency of the public official. In addition, quarterly updates are due January 15, April 15, and October 15.
The Molalla Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing and acting upon land use applications and to make recommendations to the City Council on land use issues. Currently the Planning Commission is reviewing the City's comprehensive land use plan and development code.
The Planning Department is responsible for guiding the City's growth by updating and enforcing all applicable land use regulations and development standards. The Planning Department is responsible for all current and long range planning including the issuance of permits, maintaining and implementing the Molalla Comprehensive Plan. Molalla's Comprehensive Plan is implemented through adopted Ordinances (Chapters 16 through 19 of the Molalla Municipal Code).
The Planning Department reviews zoning, municipal code and building criteria. There are several types of planning processes that range from staff approval for non-discretionary permits to full review by the Planning Commission and the City Council.
