Members of the Planning Commission are required to file a Statement of Economic Interest with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission.  The annual reports must be filed by April 15 every year of the incumbency of the public official.  In addition, quarterly updates are due January 15, April 15, and October 15.

The Molalla Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing and acting upon land use applications and to make recommendations to the City Council on land use issues.  Currently the Planning Commission is reviewing the City's comprehensive land use plan and development code.

The Planning Department is responsible for guiding the City's growth by updating and enforcing all applicable land use regulations and development standards.  The Planning Department is responsible for all current and long range planning including the issuance of permits, maintaining and implementing the Molalla Comprehensive Plan.  Molalla's Comprehensive Plan is implemented through adopted Ordinances (Chapters 16 through 19 of the Molalla Municipal Code).

The Planning Department reviews zoning, municipal code and building criteria.  There are several types of planning processes that range from staff approval for non-discretionary permits to full review by the Planning Commission and the City Council.  Current land use files can be found on the CURRENT PLANNING page.
